Capcom's Street Fighter 6 has an Alex problem, but not with the character himself or anything in-game. Instead, fans have largely decried Alex's ending, which catches up with him after he marries and impregnates Patricia, his step-sister and second cousin. Now, Capcom is answering that backlash with an upcoming patch that addresses some of the criticisms lobbed against it.
Street Fighter 6 Takayuki Nakayama announced the patch online and wrote that the team is sorry "for any confusion that recent topics regarding Alex's story may have caused." Nakayama went on to note that Alex and Patricia's backstories aren't being retconned, but Capcom does "plan to revise certain text passages that may have been misleading in the near future."
Nakayama also provided a link to a short story on Street Fighter 6's official site that reaffirms the connection between Alex and Patricia. They're still step-siblings and he still held her as a baby. The only real change it makes is that they didn't know each other well for most of her life until he came to her rescue as an adult. The story doesn't seem to definitively say whether they're still second cousins or not.
So far, the largely negative responses to Capcom's fixes may not be what the Street Fighter 6 team was hoping for.
Following Alex's return in SF6 earlier this month, the only remaining character from Year 3's DLC fighters is Ingrid, who will be released this summer. It's currently unknown if Capcom will have four additional DLC characters for Street Fighter 6's fourth year. However, there is a new Street Fighter movie coming to theaters on October 16. That film features most of the characters from Street Fighter 2, while more recent fighters like Alex appear to be missing from the narrative.

We apologize for any confusion that recent topics regarding Alex's story may have caused.
While we have not changed the characters’ backstories, after internal review by the development team, we plan to revise certain text passages that may have been misleading in the near future.…

JUST MAKE HIM THE KID'S UNCLE, TAKING CARE OF HIS SISTER, IT'S NOT THAT HARD,"MISUNDERSTANDING" MY ASS WHY DID YOU MAKE THEM COUSINS AND CONFIRM THEM AS STEP SIBLINGS IN THE SAME ENTRY YOU REVEALED HE GOT HER PREGNANT, HE'S BEEN HER BIG BROTHER FOR 30 YEARS WHAT WERE YOU THINKING

This side story misses the point. People are outraged that Tom is his mother's cousin. No colorful writing is going to overlook him marrying his SECOND COUSIN.
Also, leaving home as a teenager doesn't undo 10 years of living under the same roof as foster siblings either.l
