Actor Tony Dalton, known for his roles in Better Call Saul and in the MCU as Jack Duquesne, will appear in Naughty Dog's next game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and now he's shared some more insight into working on the game and with director Neil Druckmann.
Speaking with Culture Wave Media, Dalton said Druckmann enjoyed working with him on HBO's The Last of Us, where Dalton played Joel's father. Druckmann wanted to keep working with Dalton, so Druckmann pitched Dalton on Intergalatic. It's Dalton's first video game, so he didn't know what to expect, but he trusted Druckmann and signed on.
"It's crazy. It's like nothing I've ever done in my life. These guys are top of the line. You put on these skin tight suits with dots all over the place--all over your face and everything. They have a whole set. Huge, huge set. It's amazing," Dalton said of recording his parts for Intergalactic.
He also sung Druckmann's praises, saying he is the "sweetest guy in the world."
Not much is known about Intergalatic, so we don't know who Dalton may be playing. However, he said in the interview that he would be playing a "lead" role. Other actors confirmed for Intergalactic include Kumail Nanjiani and Troy Baker, while Tati Gabrielle plays protagonist Jordan A. Mun.
There is no word yet on when Naughty Dog may share more information on Intergalactic, but a State of Play event is reportedly coming in February, and this could be a forum for more information.
Intergalactic has been in development since 2020 and Naughty Dog has said it's the "wildest, most creative story" the studio has ever come up with. You'll play as Jordan A. Mun, a bounty hunter who gets stuck on the planet of Sempiria. Naughty Dog has said the game will offer the "deepest gameplay" in the studio's history, but it's unclear what that actually means.
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are scoring Intergalactic, and Naughty Dog said "the guys are cooking."
In addition to Intergalactic, Naughty Dog is said to be working on The Last of Us: Part III. In other related news, The Last of Us Season 3 on HBO is expected in 2027, and it will focus more on Abby.
