We're in the final stretch of Season of the Deep, but if there's one constant in Destiny 2, it's a scheduled visit from intergalactic arms dealer Xur. As usual, Xur has a fresh inventory of Exotic armor pieces and weapons, legendary-class gear, and access to the Xenology quest. Here's where Xur is this week, and what he has for sale.
This week you can find Xur on Nessus, in The Watcher's Grave. For his weapon, Xur is offering Merciless. Hunters can pick up the Shinobu's Vow gauntlets; Titans can grab the ACD/0 Feedback gauntlets; and Warlocks can buy the Crown of Tempests helmet.
Head to Nessus and use the Watcher's Grave transmat zone to find Xur this week. When you arrive, hop on your sparrow and head north toward the exit of the area. Look for a big tree with pink moss on the right side of the area. Climb up onto its big, flat branch, where you can reach Xur.
Xur also offers the Xenology quest every week, which requires you to complete 21 Vanguard Ops or win Crucible and Gambit matches so that you can earn an Exotic Cipher. These are normally used to buy old Exotics from a kiosk in the Tower, but from this season, you'll be able to spend them at Master Rahool to get the Exotics that you want. The cap on Exotic Ciphers has also increased, as you'll now be able to hold up to five of them at a time.
This Exotic improves Skip Grenade, gives your Hunter an additional Skip Grenade charge, and Skip Grenade returns energy when it damages enemies. It's a decent Exotic for PvP, although in PvE, there are plenty of armor mods that can help you quickly regain ability energy when paired with the right subclass build. For the stats, this roll of Shinobu's Vow has good mobility, recovery, strength, and high discipline that ties into its grenade-centric nature well, but resilience and intellect are very low.
There's no shortage of Titan Exotics that emphasize punch-heavy builds, and with ACD\0 Feedback Fence, these gauntlets have a give-and-receive nature that allows for devastating haymakers. Not only do you build up explosive power with each blow, but taking damage also feeds into this Exotic until you detonate all your stored power. This build has a great resilience stat that'll help keep you alive for longer, while recovery, discipline, and intellect are also high. You'll need to mod the low strength stat to make your punches effective, but don't worry about the almost non-existent mobility stat, as that isn't the most crucial Titan stat.
Crown of Tempests is the go-to Exotic for Warlocks who want to flex their inner Darth Sidious with unlimited power. This helmet makes your Arc subclass abilities more lethal, increases their recharge rate, and extends the duration of your Stormtrance Super. When it comes to numbers, it's a mixed bag as recovery, intellect, and strength are great, mobility is unnecessarily high, and resilience and discipline is very low with this Exotic.
Fusion rifles are powerful, but slow-firing weapons normally, a problem that Merciless doesn't suffer from. Perfect for boss encounters, each successful hit with this Exotic will decrease its load time and allows you to quickly fire off powerful waves of weaponized solar energy.
Hawkmoon is an average roll this week, as the Moving Target perk makes it a viable option for PvP. This trait gives the hand cannon increased movement speed and target acquisition when moving while aiming down the sights, making it useful in the Crucible when you're looking to save up those Paracausal Shot bonuses.
Dead Man's Tale isn't a must-have this week, unless you really need a scout rifle for PvE. Subsistence isn't too bad for dealing with red-bar enemies, as you'll get partial reloads from defeated enemies, but the rest of this build doesn't synergize too well.
