Witcher 4 Dev Reacts To Game Awards Nomination Alongside GTA 6

CD Projekt Red has reacted to The Witcher 4 receiving a nomination at The Game Awards, with the Polish studio saying it is "extremely humbled and honored."

The Witcher 4 was nominated for the Most Anticipated Game award, alongside titles like Grand Theft Auto VI, 007 First Light, Marvel's Wolverine, and Resident Evil Requiem.

"A huge thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone in our community for your love and support," CD Projekt Red said.

The Most Anticipated Game award is voted on by fans, and you have until December 10 to vote for The Witcher 4 or whatever game you want to win this year.

The Game Awards takes place on Thursday, December 11, and in addition to announcing all the award winners, there will be news and other announcements to come. Keep checking back with GameSpot for more.

The Witcher 4 doesn't have a release date yet, but it's not expected to launch until 2027 at the soonest. It's one of multiple games in development now at CD Projekt. Some of the others include Cyberpunk 2, a remake of the original Witcher, and a game produced in partnership with Saudi Arabia.

The Witcher 4 focuses its story on Ciri, and this has generated some amount of debate and controversy. Some people are calling the game "woke," but Geralt's voice actor has slammed these critics. In other news, a new tech demo for the game debuted earlier this year, and while it looked very impressive, the developers want people to know it wasn't actually the game.
