World Of Tanks: Heat Is A Hero Shooter Where The Heroes Have Customizable Tanks

As part of Gamescom Opening Night Live, Wargaming announced World of Tanks: Heat, a new 10v10 hero shooter/tank combat hybrid game that looks to mix the best of Overwatch with the best of World of Tanks.

Players will be able to choose from a selection of tanks and "agents"--Heat's version of heroes from other similar shooters--and take on other players in classic multiplayer modes, with Kill Сonfirmed, Domination, and Conquest among the confirmed formats. Players will also be able to customize their tanks with "advanced weapons systems, armor modules, visual mods, and battlefield-altering abilities," according to the official announcement.

This new take on World of Tanks will be the first game in Wargaming's history to launch simultaneously across multiple platforms. As such, it will also offer cross-play and cross-progression on each platform, which will allow players to join matches on console and PC seamlessly on one account.

The official announcement also describes World of Tanks: Heat as "free-to-win," meaning that while in-game purchases will be available, they will not be necessary in order to keep up with competition. The game's monetization, according to Wargaming, "focuses on cosmetics, battle passes, and time-savers."

World of Tanks: Heat will launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. No official launch window has been provided as of this writing.
